Below you will find a list of materials that you will eventually need to get, such as music, reeds and other equipment to make your lessons more effective. As each instrument is different, there is a different list of equipment for each instrument. The lists for clarinet and saxophone pretty much cover the entire clarinet and saxophone families. If you play bass clarinet or something besides alto saxophone, we can discuss proper music and equipment for those instruments later on. On my "Places to buy stuff" page you will find phone numbers, addresses and website links for places in the area and online where you can get all of the equipment mentioned in these lists.
Flute
1) Your Flute!
2) A flute swab and cleaning rod; preferably a plastic or wood cleaning rod as a metal cleaning rod can damage the inside of your flute
3) Rubank Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced Method for Flute, depending on your skill level
4) Any other music you want to work on or need help with for band, orchestra or otherwise; such as solos and band or orchestra music
Oboe
1) Your Oboe!
2) At least 3 good reeds and a small water container to soak them in, preferably one that will fit inside your case, a 35mm film canister works well for this
3) An oboe swab and cork grease
4) A small tuner, an inexpensive tuner is perfectly fine
5) Gekeler Method for Oboe Book 1 or 2 depending on your skill level
6) Any other music you want to work on or need help with for band, orchestra or otherwise; such as solos and band or orchestra music

Bassoon
1) Your Bassoon!
2) At least 3 good reeds and a small water container to soak them in, preferably one that will fit inside your case, a 35mm film canister works well for this
3) A seat strap or a bassoon neck strap or harness, which ever you are most comfortable with using
4) Proper bassoon swabs for cleaning the boot joint
5) Rubank Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced Method for Bassoon depending on your skill level
6) Any other music or solos you need help with for band or otherwise

5) Any other music or solos you need help with for band or otherwise

Saxophones
1) Your Saxophone, be it soprano, alto, tenor or bari!
2) The proper neck strap for your saxophone
3) At least 5 good reeds, reed guards to hold all of them and a small water container to soak them in; preferably one that will fit inside your case, a 35mm film canister works well for this
4) The proper swab for your saxophone and cork grease
5) Rubank Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced Method for Saxophone depending on your skill level
6) Any other music or solos you need help with for band or otherwise
