Allow Me To Introduce Myself
My name is Crystal Grosvenor. In December 2002 I received my Bachelors of Science in K-12 Instrumental Music Education from Mizzou (University of Missouri-Columbia) and in May 2005 I received a Master of Arts in Clarinet Performance from Middle Tennessee State University. My main instrument is clarinet, but I have a lot of experience in teaching and playing the other instruments in the woodwind family; especially oboe and bassoon. I have been playing the various woodwind instruments for about 18 years and teaching lessons on them for 8 years.
I am and Alumni Member of Sigma Alpha Iota, and International Music Fraternity for Women; and I am also a charter member of the Iota Phi chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, the only Music Honor Society recognized by the National Association of College Honor Societies. In January of 2000 I travelled to Sydney, Australia with the University of Missouri Symphonic Wind Ensemble where we were the quest wind ensemble for a summer youth music camp hosted by the Australian Winds. In August of 2005 I traveled to South Korea, as a member of the Middle Tennessee State University Wind Ensemble, where we toured Cheju Island, and gave many performances throughout South Korea itself, including a standing-room-only performance in Seoul.
I enjoy teaching individual woodwind lessons because I love to work with students in a one-on-one setting as opposed to a public school setting of 20 - 50 students to 1 teacher. in an individual setting, it is easier to get to know my students and find out how they learn.
